Research in Disability and Community Inclusion (RDCI) is a website to share the research of academic staff working in Disability and Community Inclusion at Flinders University.
Our research program is delivered across five overarching streams:
Working in partnership with people with disability and a wide range of government, community services, and advocacy organisations, our research aims to:

Promoting inclusion: the social inclusion of people with disability e.g. employment, inclusive education at school and university, changing community attitudes.
Challenging marginalisation: addressing violence and abuse, e.g. preventing school bullying, addressing loneliness, and responding to domestic and family violence.
Supporting quality in practice: advancing evidence-based practices, with projects focused on home, community and aged care – e.g. positive behaviour support across diverse settings, supported decision-making, quality practice for disability support workers and improving quality of life for older people with disability.
Accessible healthcare: prioritising accessible research to reduce preventable hospitalisation – e.g. transition from paediatric to adult health care for young people with high support need; cancer survivorship of people with disability.
Evaluating quality in support and service design: we maintain a continuous stream of evaluation research for industry and community partners.
